COMPARE AND CONTRAST

 COMPARE AND CONTRAST

Definition of compare and contrast

to note what is similar and different about (two or more things) For our assignment we must compare and contrast the two poets

 HELIUM VS XENON

COMPARE:

1. Helium and Xenon are  the noble gas.

2.  they are A colourless, odourless gas that is totally unreactive.

3. Helium is the second most abundant element in the universe.

4. Like helium, we can fill balloons with xenon, but it is very expensive and the balloon becomes    very heavy because the gas is so dense.

CONTRAST:

1. Helium is duplet but Xenon is octet

2. Xenon is present in earth's atmospher but Helium is present in air.

3. Helium has never been observed bonding to another elements in compound. but Xenon can be stable compound.

4. Helium is actually colorless, but in orange red lights and soft blue Xenon

5. Helium from the sun, but Xenon is unknown

  1. If helium and xenon have a same configuration, please give me what is the same configuration?

    1. Thanks for visit and comment indri. They're configuration not same. But they have a same stabil. Cause stabil is duplet or oktet.

  2. According to your double bubble map, helium and xenon has the same history. So can you explain why it has the same history?

    BalasHapus
    Balasan
    1. I am sorry. My bubble maps is wrong. In fact, history for Xenon and Helium so different. helium from the sun, but Xenon until now, still unknown.

  3. What is compare he between xenon?

  4. What is the effect of temperature on a balloon containing helium gas

    BalasHapus
    Balasan

    1. According to the PV = nRT equation. If the temperature is enlarged then the pressure will also be great. When the balloon is filled with hydrogen gas plus high temperature then the balloon can fly high. This principle is used in flying balloons

  5. What are the properties of helium and xenon so that it is grouped in a noble gas?

    BalasHapus
    Balasan

    1. They have the last configuration are 2 and 8. As we know, the element could be stable if duplet or octet. And noble gass is the special group all pf wich are stable.

    1. yes xenon is reactive. as we know xenon can be compound with the high electronegative elements. Although the general trend of noble gases is to not form bonds with other atoms, the xenon has such a large size that the last electrons (valence electrons) are far enough from the nucleus as to be attracted by atoms that are very electronegative (eg, fluorine and oxygen). In 1962 the first compound of xenon was discovered and since that time are known about eighty or so. Most are compounds with the presence of fluorine and / or oxygen, but there are compounds containing carbon and other atoms less electronegative bonded to xenon.
